Matt joined the Trowbridge's three years ago, but prior to that the Bridgewater native had been a part time member of the team for three years. With a background in both overall farm management as well as with the Dartmoor ponies that are raised on the Bridgewater farm that father Jim Conway manages, Matt is both active in the training and showing barn as well as the overall assistant farm manager to Pat Trowbridge on the many outside projects that are associated with the farm.

For some time Matt worked side by side with Mary and Lindsey in the training barn, and is an accomplished ground man working with the training horses, young horses and driving horses.  In 2009, Matt brought the 17 year old farm breeding stallion A Major Fire+/ back from a five year hiatus to qualify and win a unanimous award in the Purebred Country Pleasure Drivng at the Region 16 Championships, with Matt at the whip.  As well, during that time he started a number of the farm young horses who have since gone on to successful show careers.  His calm and confident handling, along with a great work ethic and people skills make him integral to both the home training program and the shows.

For the last year, Matt has also assisted Pat Trowbridge with the overall farm management, and is adept at all of the machinery and trucking components of the operation as well as the breeding, collection and foaling areas that Pat manages.  Matt is in integral member of the team that makes up the whole of the Trowbridge's Ltd. farm whom we feel fortunate to have on board.
